Smart key Locking Systems
ABLOY PROTEC2 CLIQ REMOTE is the culmination of 100 years’ experience in developing world leading mechanical locking products, and over a decade of research and development in the Abloy CLIQ Solution. By combining the high security patent protected ABLOY PROTEC2 mechanical locking solution with the microelectronics of Abloy CLIQ we, bridge the gap between physical security and access control.
The CLIQ key contains a 10 year life lithium battery, and an integrated circuit that holds the authorization details of the key and the previous auditable activities. Using Hand Out and Hand In dates along with Key active periods, the life of the key can be restricted. Schedules defined in the Web Management software, can further restrict the access rights on the key.
Multiple systems can run concurrently across the same building or even different
buildings, meaning that you can use the same key wherever you want to.
The system provides full auditing and activity logging which can be accessed from anywhere in the world ensuring total control of the master key suite.
It's easy to manage and update keys, with completely configurable access rights and time scheduling of access. Keys can be simply removed when loss occurs.
Using two forms of authentication means you are far more secure; RFID access control technology compounded with a patented high security locking cylinder.
This new system is already getting the thumbs up from nursing staff and management. The ABLOY CLIQ system was installed at Scunthorpe General Hospital following an audit of its safe and secure medicines management.
"WE'VE ESTIMATED THAT ON EACH WARD IT SAVES ABOUT 4 HOURS EVERY DAY LOOKING FOR KEYS. SO WE THINK WHEN WE IMPLEMENT THIS ACROSS ALL THE WARDS ON THE TRUST, THAT'LL GIVE US THE EQUIVALENT OF HAVING 24 EXTRA NURSES ON DUTY EVERY DAY"
- Mike Urwin, Clinical Director for Medicine Management,

Three years on from the initial installation, the benefits continue to be reaped. The cost savings and operational improvements that the system has afforded speak for themselves.
The system was able to pay itself back over a period of two months, giving a 600% return on investment each year.
Scunthorpe Hospital has now implemented the system across 60 wards. One nurse even proclaimed that the system is 'changing their lives in not having to look for keys'.
